Salil Chaturvedi writes short fiction and poetry. His stories and poetry have appeared in Antiserious, Himal, Indian Literature (Sahitya Akademi), Indian Quarterly, Out of Print, Raiot, The Bombay Review, The Sunflower Collective, Wasafiri, and in various anthologies. His haiku and haibun have been published internationally in Acorn, Chrysanthemum, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, The Heron’s Nest, and also featured in NHK’s television programme ‘Haiku Masters.’ He was the Asia region winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Competition, 2008, and the winner of the Unisun/British Council Short Story Competition 2007. He won the Wordweavers Poetry Contest in 2015, and published his debut collection, In the Sanctuary of a Poem in 2017. In 2019 he was conferred the Hindi Seva Samman by the Hindi Academy, New Delhi for his collection of Hindi poetry, Ya Ra La Va Sha Sa Ha. He currently lives in Goa, on the island of Chorao.
